Awareness concerning prenatal infections that affect both mother and fetus is poor.

February is marked as International Prenatal Infection Awareness Month, and it mainly focuses on emphasizing the significance of recognizing these disorders for the health of pregnant women and their newborns. The main aim of this month is to observe and raise awareness on how to prevent infectious disease transmission from mother to fetus.

Before we jump into that, let’s talk about prenatal infections.

Transmission of viral and bacterial illnesses during pregnancy is called prenatal infection.

Certain infections, such as HIV, bacterial vaginosis, and rubella, can be dangerous when ignored during the pregnancy period, which can result in pregnancy failure or permanent disabilities for the child.

With a good healthcare regime, the spread of such infections can be reduced.

Screenings and vaccinations should be done to detect and prevent prenatal infections.

Eating properly cooked homemade food and maintaining hygiene can help reduce exposure to infection risks.

Education about prenatal infections is advised for newlyweds and the younger generations so as to make adequate decisions for the well-being of their fetus. An assessment of the risks, symptoms, and preventive measures associated with these infections is also required.

So let’s come together and work toward bringing about change by learning to develop care for people who may be affected and making sure that every pregnancy will receive the best care!

Remember, our future generations will have a significant impact from the changes in our actions!
