So what if it hurt?

This magnitude of suffering

That you carry within you

Which floods gateways to your empathy

Heightens your emotional intelligence

And you use it to heal others

Like a soft lullaby

Sung by a mother to place their child to rest

And you discovered something magic

A stethoscope and a plan

To save someone’s life at hand

This is what you came for

And there was this voice that came from within

Telling you that you did the right thing

And no riches of the world could suffice

The smile upon a patient’s face

So study the years and let your dreams come true

Do not back down yet

You’re just getting started

And the naysayers can say what they want

But you listen to your inner voice and

Support from your loved ones

Endowed with knowledge and skills

To bring tranquility and harmony to people’s lives

To rid the diseases and yesteryear’s pain

Or otherwise

You are here forevermore

This is what you came for
